Thanks for being so patient. The last time we sent you an update, we had to bite the bullet and announce that the launch of the game was going to be delayed past our original target of September 2013. We didn't set a new deadline in part because the kinds of technical delays we were encountering made things a little uncertain. Now it's November, and we thought we should update you all further -- especially because we were really hoping to have a game, or at least invite you all to a playable beta test, during the month of October!
We're still working away at creating the new HTML5 version of SiSSYFiGHT, mobile-friendly and full of new avatar options, as well as SiSSYFiGHT's new website, which will eventually be hosted by Venus Patrol. It's just been more challenging and taking longer than we had anticipated to get everything up and running. We're glad to report, however, that we've sent out all the t-shirts and stickers (old and new) to those of you who were due to receive them! Please get in touch with us via Kickstarter if you're a backer at the "New School Locker" level or above and you don't see your sticker or sticker + t-shirt soon!
We have one more announcement to make: we know that many of you have been waiting a long time for SiSSYFiGHT to return, and that it can be really disappointing to not be back on the playground in the time-frame you originally expected. Hang on! We'll get there soon. We want to apologize for the delays, however, and not just in words: you stalwart sissies deserve something more to look forward to. So we're pleased to announce that we're going to be including the new gameplay options stretch goal as part of our development work for SiSSYFiGHT!
If you remember the fervid late-spring days of the Kickstarter campaign, "new gameplay options" was our second stretch goal, the one we didn't quite raise enough money for. This stretch goal was inspired in part by player-created rules variants like Opium Den (no cowering allowed) and Tainted Love (tattling, teasing, and lolly licking only) -- and we're very excited to be able to include some variants like those, as well as the ability to create password-protected private rooms. More details will be forthcoming, but here's an important note: don't worry, the inclusion of the new gameplay options will not delay our backers-only beta test (stay tuned for that announcement! or the launch of the game; these options may appear after the rest of the core game, but they'll be coming!
Special thanks from our whole team to Ranjit (aka cassie) who's been bearing the heavy load of 90% of the technical work involved in re-creating SiSSYFiGHT --and who also volunteered to code the new gameplay options as a bonus for all of you who've waited patiently.
See you on the playground in the coming weeks,
Eric, Naomi and Ranjit
